The key to great design is to reflect the essence of the place and the spirit of the people with simplicity and clarity.

Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Thom’s approach to design has always been inspired by the Southwest’s landscapes, architecture, art and culture. For him, they are a constant and growing source of inspiration to create bespoke projects. Thom has studied and lived in New York for thirty years and has recently returned to Santa Fe to design projects in his hometown.

Thom began his design career with Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani, where he designed and developed new brand concepts for stores, showrooms, package design, fashion shows and events. This is where he discovered and cultivated his love with design, lifestyle and brand that present a strong harmony in his work.

Thom worked with The Rockwell Group in New York as a Senior Associate, designing elegant residential, hospitality and restaurant projects for Jose Andres, Alain Ducasse, Bobby Flay, Wine Spectator Magazine, Charlie Palmer, Ritz Carlton, Nobu Hotel, Fontaine Bleu Hotel, Belvedere Hotel and other clients.

While at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Thom was Vice President of Global Design for St. Regis, Le Méridien, and Luxury Collection Hotels, where he focused on creating authentic guest experiences and designs tailored to specific locations rather than rely on brand homogeneous solutions. Thom’s hospitality work has been inspired by the two decades when he designed homes with the renowned design firms of Thad Hayes INC, Jed Johnson & Associates, and David Easton. Creating bespoke homes that reflect a personal sense of place for each client, is a passion that conveys Thom’s core dedication in creating individual, comfortable and beautiful spaces.

Thom’s formative years in Santa Fe, New Mexico is when his love for architecture, interior design, landscape design and furniture design started at an early age. He apprenticed with architect Charles F Johnson during his high school years and architect Antoine Predock in his college years. He studied Architecture and Fine Arts at The University of New Mexico and Architecture and Preservation at Columbia University.

Thom’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Wallpaper Magazine, House and Garden, Elle Decor, Dwell, and The New York Times.
